Aubrey Corwin, M.S., L.P.C., C.R.C., C.L.C.P., was retained to provide a Life Care Plan for Plaintiff Marvin Kanski following a worksite accident in which he fell from a ladder. The accident resulted in Mr. Kanski sustaining a head injury and various orthopedic injuries. Our team worked in conjunction with Mr. Kanski’s treating physicians to determine his future care needs and their associated costs, to include durable medical equipment, medications, and future surgical procedures, among others. The Plaintiff was expected to require a continuum of interventional pain management, intended to manage chronic pain, improve function, and potentially avoid or delay more invasive procedures. However, if his pain and functionality were not improved with conservative treatment of injections and radiofrequency ablations, we also provided costs for a trial spinal cord stimulator and a posterior lumbar spine fusion. All future care costs were calculated in accordance with standard life care planning methodology, ensuring the recommendations aligned with medical necessity and reflected current treatment standards. Our retaining attorney was able to confidently rely on our Life Care Plan as a benchmark for Mr. Kanski’s future economic damages during settlement negotiations. While the final settlement details were confidential, our retaining attorney was able to share that Ms. Corwin’s report positively affected the outcome, parting with these last words: “Thank you for your assistance in this case!”
