Vicky brings a broad knowledge base of several different areas of nursing to VDI. A Registered Nurse for over 25 years, she has provided care and education in multiple settings, including hospital, long term care, clinic, public school systems and baccalaureate nursing programs. As a Minnesota Board of Nursing Registered Nurse Representative for five years, Vicky served on several committees and the regulatory process, promoting the board’s mission to protect the public.
Vicky has extensive experience in the field of hospital payment review, chart and billing audits and insurance grievance and appeal. As a legal nurse consultant with a specific focus on medical malpractice, she gained invaluable knowledge regarding medical research, case work-up and legal strategy, including deposition preparation. She has established, collaborative relationships with experts in a variety of fields and enjoys the learning and challenges that are unique to each case.
Vicky’s present and past certifications include Minnesota Public Health Nurse, Minnesota and Arizona School Nurse, Nationally Certified School Nurse, Certified Life Care Planner and Certified Nurse Life Care Planner. Based in our Phoenix office, Vicky provides integral support to her VDI team members, referral sources and experts through interpretation of records from multiple sources for identification of standard of care, apportionment, causation and damages issues. Vicky also performs cost analysis and research of future care needs and costs in the development of Life Care Plans.
Vicky’s husband is an owner of a pharmaceutical distribution company in the Valley of the Sun. They currently spend their free time trying to eat healthier and improving the lives of their two pups. Their beautiful and brilliant daughters are currently pursuing a doctorate of Computer Science and Cognitive Science at the University of Colorado Boulder and working as a Research Analyst at Johns Hopkins University in Applied Physical Laboratory in Maryland.
