Laura Hasenstein is a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) in the state of Louisiana.
Laura earned her Bachelor’s degree in English at the University of New Orleans in 2007 and her Master’s of Social Work at Tulane University in 2012. Prior to being employed by VDI, she worked with the Louisiana Department of Health Permanent Supportive Housing Program to provide rental assistance and tenancy support to low-income individuals with severe and complex disabilities. She has experience organizing, compiling, and reporting on programmatic data, as well as training service providers and managing large-scale project operations that have numerous stakeholders.
Additionally, she has served on the board for the Balance of State Continuum of Care and for Santosha Village, organizations who serve persons experiencing homelessness in South Louisiana. For the last ten years she has served as director of a donation-based yoga, meditation, and dharma center in New Orleans that provides free access to physical and mental wellness.
